Cannon Films boss Menahem Golan dies aged 85
Founder and head of Cannon Films Menahem Golan has died at the age of 85. The Isreali producer was behind action films such as Bloodsport and enjoyed success in the 1980s before eventually going bust.
Golan was known for extravagant spending on big-budget productions and made many films starring the likes of Sylvester Stallone and Chuck Norris, before Cannon eventually ceased production due to financial difficulties. He then moved back to his native Israel where he produced films and stage shows. The producer died on Friday in Israel and is survived by a wife and three children.
