Christian Bale signs up to play Enzo Ferrari in new biopic
Christian Bale has signed up to play Ferrari founder and car mogul Enzo Ferrari in a new biopic.
The movie, which will be directed by Michael Mann, best known for being behind the camera on Heat and Ali. Mann. He has previously directed Bale in 2009 gangster epic Public Enemies and has been developing the movie for a full 15 years.
According to Deadline, while Bale is attached, the movie does not yet have a studio, but will likely go be sold at the one of the autumn's film festivals.
The movie currently has two working scripts, one from The Italian Job’s Troy Kennedy Martin and another from Out Of Africa’s David Rayfield, it is likely to shoot next summer. It is based on Brock Yates’ 1991 book Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races.
Bale was most recently seen in Ridley Scott's biblical epic Exodus: Gods And Kings, which is out now on DVD and available to purchase on the right-hand side of the page.
