Christopher Nolan to direct WWII thriller Dunkirk, Mark Rylance, Tom Hardy to star

Christopher Nolan's new movie has been revealed and it is to be a World War II epic, titled Dunkirk.

According to Deadline, Nolan's next movie will be the story of the 1940 WWII Dunkirk evacuation project, the British military operation that saved some 330,000 Allied soldiers when they were surrounded by the German army in the small French town of Dunkirk.

Starring in the film will be Mark Rylance, Tom Hardy and Kenneth Branagh, although the bulk of the cast will largely be unknown.

Dunkirk is due for release on July 21st in 2017, which is one week before Tom Holland will make his first solo bow as Spider-Man and the same day Pitch Perfect 3 hits cinemas.

The new movie is Nolan's follow-up to Interstellar, which was released in November of 2014 and which grossed almost $700 million at the box office. It is available to purchase in our online store by clicking on the buy button on the right-hand side of the page.
