Classic teen movie She's All That to be remade
She's All That, the 1999 teen movie that starred Freddie Prinze, Jr., Rachael Leigh Cook and the late Paul Walker, is reportedly to be remade.
According to The Wrap, The Weinstein Company and Miramax are developing a new version of the film with Broadway veteran Kenny Leon attached to direct.
The original movie was a modern day re-telling of George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion, which was transplanted to a US high school. It saw Prinze, Jr.'s Zack, a high school jock, taking on a bet with his best friend Dean (Walker) that he can turn any random girl into prom queen. After Dean chooses Cook's eccentric Laney, Zack sets about transforming her into the most popular girl in school, with plenty of complications along the way.
As well as Walker, Cook and Prinze, Jr., the original also starred Anna Paquin, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, Usher Raymond, Lil’ Kim, Gabrielle Union, Dule Hill, Kieran Culkin, Elden Henson, Clea DuVall, Tim Matheson and Alexis Arquette.
It was released in 1999 and took home over $100 million at the box office.
