Could James Cameron be producing FOUR Avatar sequels?
The first Avatar was one of the highest grossing films of all time, as well as loved by audiences worldwide, and there may soon be a LOT more films in the series.
James Horner, composer of the first Avatar film, has revealed that James Cameron has written not one but four scripts to future movies in the series.
The first sequel is due sometime in 2017, with another close behind to complete the trilogy, but according to Horner there may be as many as five Avatar films when all is said and done.
Speaking to HeyuGuys.com, Horner said: “He’s got four sequels script-wise, and he’s trying to make it into three. And I think that’s where the effort is going right now. How do you keep it from expanding into a fifth movie?”
Stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana will return for the (announced) sequels which will be shot back-to-back and then released in successive years.
One thing is for certain, given the first film’s staggering take of more than $2.8bn in the global box office, the series looks primed to deliver another huge payday for James Cameron.
