Dalziel and Pascoe star Warren Clarke dies aged 67

Warren Clarke, best known for his starring role as Detective Superintendent Andy Dalziel in the TV show Dalziel and Pascoe, has died aged 67. 

Clarke's agent announced that he has passed away earlier today (November 12th) after a short illness. 

His agent added in a statement that Clarke "will be greatly missed by his family and loved ones. At this time we ask that you respect their privacy in their time of grief."

During his career, Clarke also starred in iconic movie A Clockwork Orange, O Lucky Man! and Gulag. In more recent years, he has had roles in Call the MidwifeIn with the FlynnsThe Invisibles and the Red Riding trilogy.

Clarke was next due to appear in a remake of Poldark. The series, which is due to be released next year, was his last role before his death.
