Damien Lewis to play villain in new all-female Ocean's Eleven

Wolf Hall and Billions star Damien Lewis has signed up to play the villain in the forthcoming all-female reboot of heist thriller Ocean's Eleven.

Lewis will play the former lover of star Sandra Bullock in the new heist, which sees Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, and Sarah Paulson all team up to pull off a huge robbery at the expense of Lewis's character, Variety reports.

Gary Ross, director of the first Hunger Games movie, is to direct the reboot, working from a screenplay from Queen & Country writer Olivia Milch.

Matt Damon is also confirmed to make a cameo in the movie, which is titled Ocean's Eight and due in cinemas on June 18th in 2018.

The original series, which included sequels Ocean's 12 and Ocean's 13, starred George Clooney as Danny Ocean, an ex-con who assembles a crack team to pull off a series of ever-more daring heists.
