Disney's new Beauty And The Beast gets a release date, Emma Thompson and Kevin Kline join cast
Emma Thompson and Kevin Kline have joined the all-star cast for Disney's new live action adaptation of Beauty And The Beast.
According to The Wrap, Thompson has signed up to play Mrs Potts, the castle cook, while Kline will play Maurice, the father of heroine Belle.
Already confirmed are Dracula Untold star Luke Evans, who will play muscle bound villain Gaston, with Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens signed up to play the role of Beast/The Prince.
Emma Watson has already signed on to play Belle in the movie, which is to be a live action remake of the 1991 animated classic.
Bill Condon, who directed both of the final parts of The Twilight Saga and is currently in post-production on Mr. Holmes,which stars Ian McKellen (you can see the trailer here), will direct the film, which will go into production later this year. Alan Menken, who penned many of the classic songs for the original animated movie, has signed up to score the new film.
Disney have also confirmed the film's release date, which will be on March 17th in 2017. The film will be screened in 3D.
