First live-action Pokémon movie Detective Pikachu to go into production in 2017
The first live-action Pokemon movie will go into production next year.
The movie, which is to be titled Detective Pikachu, will be produced by Legendary Pictures, the same company responsible for Warcraft: The Beginning, Jurassic World and Straight Outta Compton.
According to Variety, plot details are scarce at this stage, with no writer or director attached to the project.
Pokémon was introduced in Japan in 1996 and has sold 279 million video games worldwide with 21.5 billion cards shipped to 74 countries, and an animated series spanning 19 seasons.
