Hannibal's Hugh Dancy joins the cast for Fifty Shades Darker

Hugh Dancy, best known for his starring role in Hannibal, has joined the cast of Fifty Shades Of Grey sequel Fifty Shades Darker.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Dancy will play Dr. John Flynn, a psychiatrist that Grey begins seeing after the reappearance of Elena Robinson, the woman who introduced him to BDSM. She will be played by Kim Basinger. 

Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, the sequels to Fifty Shades Of Grey, are currently being shot back to back in Vancouver. 

The sequels are being directed by House Of Cards director James Foley and have scripts from Niall Leonard, husband of the series's creator E. L. James.

Leonard is an experienced TV writer who has written episodes of Monarch of the Glen, Wire in the Blood and Wild at Heart among other things. He takes over writing duties from Kelly Marcel. 

Fifty Shades Darker is due to hit cinemas in February 2017, with Fifty Shades Freed following in February 2018. You can check out Fifty Shades Of Grey in our online store by clicking on the icon on the right-hand side of the page.
