Hellboy to rebooted with Stranger Things star David Harbour, Guillermo Del Toro and Ron Perlman no longer involved
Hellboy is to be rebooted with Stranger Things star David Harbour in the title role.
The reboot will be made without original director Guillermo Del Toro and original star Ron Perlman, with Game Of Thrones director Neil Marshall behind the camera.
Mike Mignola, creator of the series, confirmed the news on his Facebook page:
Speaking earlier this year, Del Toro, who has already made two films in the franchise, Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army, who had talked openly about his wish to make a third movie in the series, confirmed that it will not be happening and that he is done with the question.
Hellboy and its sequel starred Perlman as demon rescued as an infant who becomes a defender of humanity against the forces of darkness.
Del Toro is currently in post-production on his new thriller, The Shape Of Water, which stars Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Doug Jones, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Octavia Spencer.
The Shape Of Water tells the story of a janitor in a government facility in 1963 America who falls in love with an aquatic man who is being held captive for testing.
