House Of Cards to end after six seasons

House Of Cards is to end after six seasons.

The decision comes after star Kevin Spacey was accused of harassing then 14-year-old actor Anthony Rapp in 1986. The actor has issued an apology, but has said that he does not remember the incident taking place.

According to various reports, the decision to cancel the show had already been taken some months ago, but has only been made public in the last 24 hours.

House Of Cards began its life in 2013 and has run for five seasons thus far, with a sixth due to be released in 2018. It followed Spacey's Congressman Frank Underwood, a Democrat from South Carolina.

After being passed over for appointment as Secretary of State, he initiates an elaborate plan to get himself into a position of greater power, aided by his wife, Claire Underwood, which takes them all the way to the White House.

Production on the show's sixth season is currently underway, but Spacey is not working as part of the crew and cast at the present time.
