I Am Number Four's D.J. Caruso set to direct G.I. Joe 3
D.J. Caruso, best known for directing Disturbia, Eagle Eye and I Am Number Four, is in early talks to direct the third instalment of action franchise G.I. Joe.
The director, who is currently filming new thriller The Disappointments Room, which stars Kate Beckinsale and Lucas Tilll, has entered talks with studio Paramount about taking on the new blockbuster.
According to Deadline, the follow-up to 2013's G.I. Joe: Retaliation will see Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson take the leading role, with former star Channing Tatum not returning.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which was directed by Jon M. Chu, grossed over $372 million at the box office and starred Adrianne Palicki, D.J. Cotrona, Bruce Willis, Arnold Vosloo, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce and Byung-hun Lee.
Lethal Weapon 4 and The Devil's Advocate scribe Jonathan Lemkin is currently working on the script for the new G.I. Joe.
