Incredible new trailer for Luc Besson's Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets unveiled

A brand new trailer for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, the new sci-fi epic from director Luc Besson, which stars Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne, has been unveiled. Click below to watch it. 

The movie, which has cost a reported $180 million to make, stars DeHaan as Valerian, who along with partner Laureline (Delevingne) work as special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe.

Under instructions from their commanders, the park are sent on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe, a city where they discover a plot is being cooked up that threatens to destroy everything. 

Starring alongside DeHaan and Delevingne are Clive Owen, Rihanna, Kris Wu, John Goodman, Ethan Hawke and Mathieu Kassovitz. 

The movie has been written and directed by Besson. It is based on the much-loved graphic novel series Valérian and Laureline. 

The new trailer offers up a longer look at the film's huge scope and wonderful special effects as well as a first proper at the City of a Thousand Planets itself. 

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets will be released into UK cinemas on August 4th this summer.
