Johnny Depp and Judi Dench join the cast for Murder on the Orient Express

Johnny Depp and Dame Judi Dench are the latest additions to the cast for Kenneth Branagh's upcoming remake of Murder on the Orient Express, based on the story by Agatha Christie. The pair join a cast that also includes Daisy Ridley, Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Peña and Derek Jacobi, as well as Branagh himself in the role of one of Christie's most famous character's, the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot.

It is the second film adaptation of Christie's murder mystery novel, having been adapted for the big screen in 1974 by screenwriter Paul Denn and director Sidney Lumet, with Albert Finney taking on the role of Poirot.

Branagh's new film is currently in pre-production and is due to arrive in cinemas late in 2017.
