Lady Gaga to replace Beyonce in Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born remake
Lady Gaga looks set to star opposite Bradley Cooper in the remake of Warner Brothers' classic rags to riches story A Star Is Born.
According to Deadline, the movie will be Cooper's directorial debut and will see him star alongside the singer. It had been previously reported that Beyonce was in talks to take a starring role, but no deal could be done.
A Star Is Born was originally released in 1937 and has been remade twice already, most famously in 1976 with a starring pair of Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. It follows the life of John Norman Howard, a has-been rock star falls in love with a young, up-and-coming songstress named Esther Hoffman as her career begins to take off and his falls into terminal decline.
Cooper will next be seen in a small role in Jonah Hill and Miles Teller's comedy War Dogs, while Gaga is hard at work on her fifth studio album.
