Marvel Studios has confirmed that the third film in the Avengers series will be split into two parts.

The films, which will be titled Avengers: Inifinity War Part I and Avengers: Inifinity War Part II, will be released in 2018 and 2019.

The first of the two will hit cinemas on May 4th 2018 and the second on May 3rd 2019. You can see the film's logo below:

Last week, the first trailer for Avengers: Age Of Ultron was unveiled, scroll down and click to watch it.

The preview, which is two minutes and 17 seconds in length, shows a number of explosive action set pieces and promises that the sequel will have a dark, brooding tone.

We also get our first glimpse of villain Ultron, played by The Blacklist star James Spader, and a more detailed look at newcomers Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, played by Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson respectively.

Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L Jackson and Cobie Smulders will all reprise their roles in the sequel.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron is due to be released into UK cinemas on April 24th next year, with the US release coming a week later.
