Men In Black to be rebooted, Jump Street crossover scrapped

Men In Black is to be rebooted in 2019.

According to Variety, Sony Pictures had originally planned on combining their successful Jump Street franchise into Men In Black, but have now scrapped that idea and will focus on a new reboot.

Neither Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones, who starred in Men Black and its two sequels, will return for the new movie, with two new leads set to be cast.

Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, whose credits include Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight, will write the screenplay for the new movie, which is due in cinemas on May 17th in 2019.

Men In Black followed Smith and Jones, who played agents of a secret organisation that polices and monitors extraterrestrial interactions on Earth. The three movies grossed over $1.7 billion at the box office.
