Michelle Rodriguez threatens to quit the Fast and Furious franchise

Michelle Rodriguez has threatened to quit the Fast and Furious franchise.

The actress, who has starred in five of the eight movies in the franchise, wrote on her Instagram that she would "have to say goodbye" unless the franchise's producers "show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one".

She wrote: "I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one. Or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise. It's been a good ride and I'm grateful for the opportunity, the fans, and studio have provided over the years... One Love."

Pre-production on the next instalment of the movie is due to get underway later this year with a release date of April 19th in 2019 already locked. It's unknown which characters will return for the new movie.

The eighth instalment of the franchise, Fast 8, was released into cinemas earlier this year and is available to pre-order on DVD on the right-hand side of the page.

You can check out all the previous instalments of Fast and Furious here in hmv's online store.
