Minions - Five Reasons You'll Love It

It’s the most unlikely and bizarre billion dollar success story. Minions are small, yellow, oddly shaped organisms who speak entirely in gibberish, yet they’ve gone on to power two of the biggest hit movies of the last decade.

After taking a secondary, but key role in Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2, this time our small yellow friends are the stars of the show in Minions, a prequel that shows how they came to be, where they came from and how one of them almost dethroned Queen Elizabeth II. It's out on DVD now, but when it hit cinemas we caught an early screening of their solo bow and have rounded up five reasons you’ll love Minions

It’s very, very funny…

This is the perfect mixture of slapstick and sophistication and will have kids and grown-ups alike sniggering throughout.

Sandra Bullock is on wonderful form…

To voice Scarlet Overkill, the world’s most celebrated super villain, must be an absolute joy for any actor, but Bullock absolutely nails it, she’s very funny throughout.

Jon Hamm is a joy…

After almost a decade playing one of TV’s most iconic and intense characters in Don Draper, this is Hamm kicking back and having some fun. He plays wacky mod and inventor Herb Overkill and he’s on terrifically sardonic form.

The prologue is absolute genius…

We all know that minions gravitate to the most evil and power-hungry master they can find, but what we don’t know is just how much of history they’ve touched. You’ll find out in the supremely funny prologue which kicks off the movie, do not arrive late!

It sets everything up nicely for Despicable Me 3…

And we cannot wait for it! Bring on June 2017!
