Moody first trailer for BBC's lavish adaptation of Wolf Hall unveiled
The first trailer for Wolf Hall, the BBC's new lavish adaptation of the much-loved novel by Hilary Mantel, has been unveiled, scroll down and click to watch it.
The six-part series will be broadcast in the early part of 2015 on BBC Two and follows the meteoric rise of Thomas Cromwell, a man who began life as a blacksmith's son, but rose to became the chief advisor to King Henry VIII.
The series is directed by Peter Kosminsky and stars Mark Rylance as Cromwell, with Damian Lewis portraying Henry. There are also key roles for Jonathan Pryce, Claire Foye, Mark Gatiss and Jessica Raine.
The trailer has a dark tone, which is likely to be reflected in the series, which focuses on the double crossing, plotting and endless scheming that occured during Henry VIII's reign in England.
