What’s the plot?
In case you've been living under a very large rock for the last five years, the premise of all the Paranormal Activity films is based around a family that find themselves haunted by a demonic entity of some kind. This terrifying bug-in-the-night, proceeds to stalk and, sometimes, murders several members of the family, and other bystanders, during the course of the films. Grissly stuff.
The Marked Ones is no different, except this time we find ourselves in in Oxnard, California, where a group of teenagers are forced to deal with the demon of a mysterious cult who have "marked" one of them. They document their struggle in a series of found footage pieces.
Who’s in it?
No-one of any real note, Katie Featherston, who has starred in each of the series' films, returns, as does Molly Ephraim, who appeared in the second film. The film is anchored by Andrew Jacobs, who plays Jesse, who begins to experience the unpleasantness after one of his neighbours dies…
Does it deliver?
If you enjoyed jumping out of your seat at the previous four in the franchise, you'll be pleased to know it's business as usual. There are scares a plenty on offer. This will win no-one new round, but, five films in, that's inevitable…
