Pirates Of The Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge - Five Reasons You'll Love It

With global box office receipts approaching four billion dollars, it's no wonder that Disney have returned with the fifth instalment of Pirates Of The Caribbean, this time named Salazar's Revenge.

The movie stars a returning Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, with Geoffrey Rush and Orlando Bloom are back for the new movie, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario are all newcomers.

The new instalment follows Sparrow on the run after he discovers that ghost pirates led by his old nemesis Captain Salazar escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea. To save himself and all pirates, Sparrow must then find legendary Trident of Poseidon

The script has been written by Catch Me If You Can's Jeff Nathanson, with Norwegian pair Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg directing.

It's cost a reported $230 million dollars to produce and arrives on DVD on Monday (October 2nd), but does it cut the mustard? We caught an early screening of the movie and have rounded up five reasons why you'll love it...

The scale is incredible...

As you'd expect with a budget of this size, the depth and scale is on show here is off the charts. The scenery is stunning, the sets are enormous and the effects jaw-dropping.

It's got some rollicking great action set pieces...

From stealing an entire bank to a thrilling final dive down to the bottom of the ocean, the film has plenty of action and adventure.

It's very funny...

It won't be a Pirates movie without plenty of killer one-liners and a large dollop of slapstick humour. There's plenty of both in this movie.

Javier Bardem is a menacing marvel...

Bardem can do villains pretty well, just ask James Bond, and here's on excellent form here too, lighting up the screen whenever he's on it.

If this is the last we see of Jack Sparrow, it's a fitting farewell...

This is billed as the final adventure, and if it is, then it's a great send-off for Captain Jack and his crew, but if it's not, then bring it on!
