Pompeii star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje joins cast of Game Of Thrones

Pompeii star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has joined the cast of Game Of Thrones for the forthcoming season.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who also starred as Mr Eko in Lost, will take the part of Malko, a character who does not feature in George R.R Martin's novels, on which the show is based.

The actor is not the only high-profile addition to the show's cast for the fifth series, with one-time James Bond villain Jonathan Pryce among the new cast members.

As well as Pryce, Alexander Siddig, who's starred in 24, and Oscar nominee Keisha Castle-Hughes will join the cast, as will Nell Tiger Free, Toby Sebastian, DeObia Oparei, Enzo Cilenti, Silk's Jessica Henwick and Rosabell Laurenti Sellers.

Pryce will take the role of the High Sparrow while Castle-Hughes will appear as Obara Sand, with Siddig as Doran Martell and Sebastian as Trystane Martell. Tiger Free is Myrcella Baratheon, Oparei is Areo Hotah, Cilenti will be Yezzen, Henwick is Nymeria Sand and Laurenti Sellers is Tyene Sand.

Season five of the show will premiere in April next year.
