Ricky Gervais to return as host for the Golden Globes
Ricky Gervais is set to make a surprise return to hosting duties at next year's Golden Globes, his first stint presenting the awards ceremony since 2012.
In the intervening three years, the ceremony has been hosted by the duo of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who have proved a popular choice over their three-year shift presenting the show.
Gervais, on the other hand, has divided opinion over his suitability for the event, frequently offending celebrities and audience members alike with his controversial jokes and put-downs.
However, the organisers seem to love him and last night he tweeted a picture featuring the new posters for the show displayed on a wall in New York:
This year will be the fourth time the Brit has presented the show, more than any other host in the ceremony’s history.
