Robin Hood reboot delayed so Taron Egerton can shoot Kingsman 2
Lionsgate's new reboot of Robin Hood has been delayed after it was confirmed that star Taron Egerton will first shoot the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, originally it had looked like the sequel to Matthew Vaughn's hit spy thriller would be shot in April, which would be two months into the shoot for Robin Hood.
Now though, after negotiations between the two studios, Robin Hood's shoot has been delayed until the summer and will begin after Egerton completes work on the sequel.
The reboot is currently titled Robin Hood: Origins and will be directed by Otto Bathurst, best known for his work directing Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror. It is set to take the character back to his roots and discover how he became the iconic outlaw.
Robin Hood was last on the big screen in 2010 with Russell Crowe starring as the titular hero in a movie directed by Ridley Scott. You can check that movie out here in our online store.
