Rogue One's Ben Mendelsohn signs up to play Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Origins

Ben Mendelsohn, star of Bloodline and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, has signed up to play the Sheriff of Nottingham in new reboot Robin Hood: Origins

Taron Egerton will play Robin Hood, with The Knick's Eve Hewson as Maid Marion, Jamie Foxx as Little John and Jamie Dornan playing Will Scarlett. 

Robin Hood: Origins will be directed by Otto Bathurst, best known for his work directing Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror. It is set to take the character back to his roots and discover how he became the iconic outlaw. It will film next year and is due for release in 2018

Robin Hood was last on the big screen in 2010 with Russell Crowe starring as the titular hero in a movie directed by Ridley Scott. You can check that movie out here in our online store.
