Ryan Gosling reportedly offered the lead role in Disney's new Beauty And The Beast
Drive and The Notebook star Ryan Gosling has reportedly been offered the leading role in Disney's new live action adaptation of Beauty And The Beast.
Gosling, who it has to be said is not known for his beastly appearance, is Disney's top choice for the role of The Beast, according to The Tracking Board.
Emma Watson has already signed on to play Belle in the movie, which is to be a live action remake of the 1991 animated classic.
Bill Condon, who directed both of the final parts of The Twilight Saga and is currently filming Mr Holmes with Ian McKellen, will direct the film, which will go into production later this year.
Gosling is currently filming gangster movie The Nice Guys alongside Russell Crowe and Matt Bomer and is attached to star in The Big Short. The latter will star Steve Carrell, Brad Pitt and Christian Bale and is being adapted from Michael Lewis's book The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, which spent 28 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list.
The book tells the story of the build-up to the housing and credit bubble throughout the 2000s that eventually led to the financial crisis of 2007-2010.
