Sherlock director Paul McGuigan linked with director's chair for James Bond 25

Paul McGuigan, best known for directing a number of key episodes of Sherlock as well as gangster thriller Lucky Number Slevin, is in the frame to take the director's chair on the next James Bond movie.

According to IndieWire, McGuigan, who also directed fantasy thriller Victor Frankenstein, is currently in post-production on dark drama Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool, is the frontrunner to take charge of 007's next outing.

Work on the script for the next Bond is now underway with screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, while it is expected that Daniel Craig will return for a fifth outing as Bond.

Spectre, Craig's last outing as Bond, is out now on DVD and available to order from hmv's online store by clicking on the icon on the right-hand side of the page.
