Shia LaBeouf will not return for Indiana Jones 5

Shia LaBeouf will not be returning for the new instalment of Indiana Jones.

LaBeouf starred in the explorer's last outing, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, playing Mutt Williams — a.k.a. Indy’s son, Henry Jones III, but won't be returning for the new movie, unlike star Harrison Ford and director Stephen Spielberg.

Screenwriter David Koepp confirmed the news to Entertainment Weekly, saying: “Harrison plays Indiana Jones, that I can certainly say. And the Shia LaBeouf character is not in the film.”

Then asked when the film will emerge, Koepp added: "We’re plugging away at it. In terms of when we would start, I think that’s up to Mr. Spielberg and Mr. Ford. I know we’ve got a script we’re mostly happy with. Work will be endless, of course, and ongoing, and Steven just finished shooting The Post…. If the stars align, hopefully, it’ll be his next film.”

At present, the fifth instalment of Indiana Jones is due to be released on July 19th in 2019.
