Star Wars star Carrie Fisher dies aged 60
Carrie Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars, has died at the age of 60.
Fisher, who suffered a cardiac arrest on a flight over the weekend and was rushed into hospital, died this morning (December 27th).
In a statement given to People magazine, spokesman Simon Halls released a statement on behalf of Fisher’s daughter, Billie Lourd.
It said: "It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”
