Steven Spielberg assembles all-star cast, including Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep, for new movie The Papers
Steven Spielberg has confirmed the all-star cast for his new movie The Papers.
Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep will star, with Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Pat Healy, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford and Zach Woods now also onboard.
The movie retells the true story of the role The Washington Post played in exposing the Papers, a document of unreported facts about a secret aim to escalate the Vietnam War in 1971. In the end, the battle saw the newspaper head to the Supreme Court for the right to study the documents.
Hanks will play Ben Bradlee, the paper's editor, with Streep as publisher Kay Graham.
The movie has just gone into production, but is expected to cinemas later this year in the US and on January 26th next year in the UK.
