Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown to lead Godzilla: King Of Monsters
Millie Bobby Brown, star of hit sci-fi drama Stranger Things, is to star in Godzilla sequel Godzilla: King Of Monsters.
Brown, who is currently filming the show's second season, has been confirmed to lead the sequel in an as yet unnamed role.
The 12-year old's castings come a few days after it was revealed that Michael Dougherty, best known as the writer and director of festive horror Krampus, will direct the Godzilla sequel.
Dougherty, who has been co-writing the sequel alongside Zach Shields, was expected to just contribute the script but has now been given the directorial gig as well.
He takes over from Gareth Edwards, who announced in the promotional campaign for the original that he would not be returning to direct any sequel.
The follow-up to the 2014 monster movie had originally been due to hit cinemas in June of 2018, but it now won't hit screens until March 22nd of 2019.
Godzilla Vs King Kong will be released in 2020 and now has a confirmed release date of May 29th in that year. No reason has been given for either movie's delay.
The showdown with King Kong will be preceded by King Kong reboot Kong: Skull Island, which is to star Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston and will be released in March of 2017.
Godzilla starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen and Ken Watanabe and is available to order in hmv's online store by clicking on the icon on the right-hand side of the page.
