The Good Dinosaur: What You Need To Know

Pixar’s big-hearted adventure The Good Dinosaur was a big hit with both critics and audiences alike when it hit cinemas at the end of last year and it’s sure to be just as beloved when it comes to DVD shelves on Monday (March 21st). Here is what you need to know about Pixar’s new adventure...

Who’s In It?

This movie features an array of top voice talent with voices of Raymond Ochoa, Jack Bright, Sam Elliott, Anna Paquin, A. J. Buckley, Jeffrey Wright, Frances McDormand and Steve Zahn all included.

What’s The Plot?

The Good Dinosaur takes place in an alternate universe, the kind of universe where the asteroid that clattered into earth 65 million years ago and wiped out the dinosaurs actually ends up missing our planet and passing safely off into space.

Now in the present day we pick up with a family of apatosauruses, they are led by parents Henry and Ida and their children Libby, Buck and Arlo. The family are peaceful farmers, but their youngest Arlo, the runt of the litter, is permanently struggling to make a contribution to their work and is assigned to guard the outer limits of the farm.

While on guard duty Arlo suddenly discovers a feral cave boy who he names Spot, despite his father’s instructions to kill him, Arlo doesn’t have the heart and sets him free. This is a decision that infuriates his father and the pair go to track the cave boy, only for a terrible accident to occur, an accident that leaves Arlo and Spot stuck together and facing a long journey ahead of them.

Does It Deliver?

The Good Dinosaur is a fabulous family adventure with plenty for the adults too. If you’re on the lookout for a movie for all ages for Easter time this is an absolute no-brainer.

The Good Dinosaur will be released on DVD on Monday (March 25th). You can pre-order it on the right-hand side of the page.
