The Good Wife to end after seven seasons

Hit legal drama The Good Wife is to end after seven seasons. 

CBS, who produce the drama, confirmed the news last night (February 7th) during an advertising break at the Super Bowl. 


The show's seventh season will consist of 22 episodes and will end in the US on May 8th of this year, with the UK end date sometime later. 

The Good Wife followed the fortunes of Alicia Florrick, who after years of playing good wife to her husband, a former state's attorney, is forced back to work after he is caught up in a very humiliating sex and corruption scandal. 

It starred Juliana Margulies stars as the aforementioned Alicia, with Sex And The City star Chris Noth as her husband Peter. During the course of the show's run Alan Cumming, Matthew Goode, Mamie Gummer, Matt Czurchry, Christine Baranski, Josh Charles, Archie Panjabi and Mackenzie Vega have all provided key supporting roles.
