The next Fast and Furious film now has a release date
With Fast and the Furious 7 still fresh in our minds (and having taken in a small fortune at the global box office), you won’t have to wait terribly long to see the eighth film in the hi-octane franchise.
Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas yesterday the film’s star, Vin Diesel, confirmed that the latest sequel would debut in cinemas on April 14th 2017.
Called Furious 8, it will be the second film in the series (after Tokyo Drift) to not feature its star Paul Walker who died in a car accident during production on the seventh film.
Speaking to the assembled fans at CinemaCon, Vin Diesel said: “I swear to you and to my brother upstairs (Walker), we are going to make the best movie you’ve ever seen.”
Furious 7 has passed the $1bn mark in the worldwide box office – taking just 17 days to reach that astonishing figure.
