The Shape Of Water and The Post lead 2017 Golden Globes nominations

The Post, The Shape Of Water and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri dominate the nominations for the 2017 Golden Globes.

The Shape Of Water, Guillermo Del Toro's new drama about a mute custodian at a high-security government laboratory who befriends a captured sea creature, has scored seven nominations, including Best Drama, Best Director for Del Toro and Best Actress for star Sally Hawkins.

The Post, Steven Spielberg's newspaper thriller, has six nods, including Best Drama and Best Actor and Actress for leads Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep.

Other nominees for the big prizes include Call Me By Your Name, Dunkirk, Get Out and new comedy The Disaster Artist.

In more surprising news, Christopher Plummer has scored a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role in Ridley Scott's All The Money In The World, a role he only took a few weeks ago to replace Kevin Spacey.
