Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie set to star in new John le Carre TV adaptation

Thor star Tom Hiddleston and former House mainman Hugh Laurie are set to join forces to star in a new adaptation of John le Carre's The Night Manager.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new series is being developed in partnership with the BBC, who will air the series in the UK. Various US networks are currently bidding on the right to host the drama in the States.

The Night Manager was originally published in 1993 and follows the travails of Jonathan Pine, a British soldier who has made a new life as a luxurious hotel night auditor. However, after Pine crosses paths with a French-Arab woman named Sophie with ties to the notorious Richard Onslow Roper, an English black marketer who specializes in weapons, everything begins to unravel for him.

Hiddleston will next be seen on the big screen in Guillermo Del Toro's 19th century drama Crimson Peak and Ben Wheatley's new thriller High Rise, while Laurie will next be seen in Disney's new sci-fi epic Tomorrowland.
