Transformers: The Last Knight - Five Reasons You’ll Love It

After 12 years, five films and almost four billion dollars in box office receipts, Michael Bay is bowing out with Transformers: The Last Knight, and, as you might expect, he’s going out with a big, big bang.

In this movie, we watch a battle for survival between the human race and the Transformers, with Mark Wahlberg's Cade Yeager forming an alliance with Bumblebee, an English lord and an Oxford professor to learn why the Transformers keep coming back to Earth and how their origins go all the way back to the days of King Arthur.

Joining Wahlberg are Stanley Tucci, Isabela Moner, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Santiago Cabrera, Liam Garrigan, Jerrod Carmichael, Mitch Pileggi, Laura Haddock and Anthony Hopkins.

It hits cinemas tomorrow (June 22nd) and is available to pre-order at the top-right of this page. We caught an early screening of the movie and have rounded up five reasons why you’ll love it…

The effects are incredible…

Bay has stepped things up once again with an incredible array on visual effects, you’ll be gawping from start to finish.

The opening is particularly spectacular…

We’re thrust right into medieval England for the opening of The Last Knight for a huge battle scene, it’s like something out of Game Of Thrones, bloody and brutal and a hell of a start!

Anthony Hopkins is a strange, but great bit of casting…

You might expect the British icon to be a side role here - to turn up, deliver a speech in a dusty library and then disappear - but nope, he gets stuck right in and is responsible for most of the movie’s biggest laughs..

Laura Haddock is on excellent form…

As the implausibly-named Professor Vivian Wembley, The Inbetweeners star is a nice foil for Wahlberg’s musclebound Cade Yeager.

Things are set up for another epic journey…

This might well be the end of the journey for Michael Bay, but it’s not the end for the series. You won’t get a spoiler here, but we will say things are very well set up for another adventure...

Transformers: The Last Knight is released into UK cinemas tomorrow (June 22nd) and is available to pre-order here.
