Twin Peaks' star Catherine Coulson dies aged 71

Catherine Coulson, best known for her role as the Log Lady in Twin Peaks, has passed away at the age of 71.

Coulson died yesterday (September 28th) morning, the cause of death has yet to be made public.

Releasing a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, Twin Peaks creator David Lynch paid tribute to Coulson, writing: "Today, I lost one of my dearest friends, Catherine Coulson. Catherine was solid gold. She was always there for her friends — she was filled with love for all people, for her family, for her work."

He continued: "She was a tireless worker. She had a great sense of humor — she loved to laugh and make people laugh," Lynch continued. "She was a spiritual person — a longtime TM meditator. She was the Log Lady."

Outside of her work on Twin Peaks, Coulson also made an apperance in Lynch's short film The Amputee and his disturbing debut feature Eraserhead. For most of her life she was primarily a theatre actor and worked with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
