Warwick Davis confirms he will be appearing in Star Wars Episode 7

Warwick Davis has confirmed that he has a role in Star Wars Episode 7.

The Life's Too Short star, who played Ewok Wicket in Star Wars Episode VI - The Return of the Jedi at the age of 11, confirmed his casting in a video he posted last night (October 16th), which you can see below.

The video shows Davis back in July 2013, excited about announcement of more Star Wars films being made and waiting patiently for the call to join the cast. A year passes before he finally gets the call from director JJ Abrams to come on down and join the cast.

Davis had openly campaigned for a role in the film, even visiting the set at Pinewood Studios himself.

Original Star Wars stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Kenny Baker and Peter Mayhew are returning, with John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson and Lupita Nyong'o among the new additions to the cast.

Star Wars Episode 7 is due for release on December 18th in 2015.
