Work already underway on Deadpool sequel
It only opened in cinemas today (February 10th), but a sequel to new X-Men spin-off Deadpool has already been greenlit.
The movie stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, with Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand also in key roles, and, according to the Hollywood Reporter, producers 20th Century Fox have already ordered a sequel.
According to the report, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote Deadpool, are already working on the script for the sequel.
Visual effects supervisor Tim Miller, who makes his debut as director on the movie, is not signed up for a sequel yet, but the report states that producers are keen for him to return.
Reynolds made his debut as Deadpool, who is also known as Wade Wilson, in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The character has a number of powers, including vastly accelerated healing and incredible stamina. He is also an expert in a number of martial arts.
