Zootropolis - Five Reasons You’ll Love It

Already a smash hit in the US (where it’s titled Zootopia), Zootropolis comes to cinemas this Friday (March 25th) and we reckon you’ll love it. Featuring the vocal talent of Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin, Kristen Bell, J. K. Simmons, Idris Elba and Octavia Spencer, this Disney family animation is set inside a city entirely populated by animals. We follow Judy Hopps, Zootropolis’s first ever bunny cop, who is forced to team up with Nick, a fast-talking fox, after the two are caught up in a strange criminal conspiracy.

It hits screens this weekend and here are five reasons you’ll love it…

It’s very, very funny…

Writers Jared Bush and Phil Johnston have done a superb job with the script, which has more than enough fun and quality gags for both children and adults alike.

Especially the section with the sloths…

There’s a reason why so many YouTube clips of the slow-moving animals have millions of hits, they’re adorable and there’s a superb scene with a lot of them here. Look out for it.

The voices are superbly chosen...

From Elba’s gruff buffalo Chief Bogo to Bateman’s sly fox Nick to Goodwin’s ever-so chirpy rabbit Judy to J.K. Simmons’ glorious lion

It’s so beautiful and wonderfully imaginative…

Everything to do with Zootropolis is so well-drawn. The city and its districts are all exquisitely imagined and full of life and colour. There’s so much to take in, it’s a real visual feast.

And there’s plenty of room for a sequel…

We’d love to return to Zootropolis and the film’s delightful ending leaves plenty of scope for that.

Zootropolis is released into cinemas on Friday (March 25th) and will be released on DVD later this year.
