"Hopefully we’re still walking by the end of the year..." - Adventure Club

It's fair to say that Canadian electro duo Adventure Club have been enjoying themselves in the past few months. Comprised of long-time friends Christian Srigley and Leighton James, the pair released their debut EP Calling All Heroes Pt.1 at the tail end of 2013 and have been touring off the back of it ever since, playing to bigger and bigger crowds.

Famed for their remxies, with reworkings of tracks by the likes of Britney Spears, Brand New, Foxes and Kanye West under their belts, we caught up with the pair to discuss their brilliant year so far and their plans for new material...

How has 2014 been for you guys so far?

"To say it has been anything less than phenomenal would be a lie. Crowd support at shows is at an all time high, I think we’re on the road over 20 days a month.  Hopefully we’re still walking by the end of the year."

Have you been pleased with the reaction to the ‘Calling All Heroes – Part 1’ EP?

"We’re content and proud of the work we did on it. It charted #1 in the iTunes dance chart which was a huge accomplishment for us. Calling All Heroes was kind of like a genre exploring stepping stone for us. We kind of pigeonholed ourselves in the melodic female vocal dubstep area, don’t get us wrong we love it and will continue to make it (our next release) but we’re artists and we like to explore."

Have you been working on Part 2? And if so when can we expect it?

"We’re gonna be releasing a bunch of new remixes and one off originals for the time being."

Have you got any collaborations lined up for your next release?

"We do! Super excited about them. But we like to keep everything a surprise."

Which vocalists would you most like to collaborate with?

"Hmmm right now that would be Cat Power, Stevie Nicks, Jonny Craig, Broods and Autre Ne Veut."

Are you working on any remixes you can tell us about?

"Currently working on a Max Elto remix, really excited about it. Haven’t released a remix in about a year."

You remixed Foxes back in 2012, have you had a chance to check out her album yet?

"Now that you mention it… I knew I had something to listen to. I’m sure it will be unreal."

What do you think of the new Skrillex album?

"Caught us a little bit off guard at first. Can’t say I’m a fan of every song, but there are a ton of masterpieces on that album. Was on heavy rotation for a while."

What’s the plan for the rest of this year for you guys?

"Tour until we drop and released more music until people are tired about hearing about us."
