Arlo Parks, Ghetts and Mogwai among the nominees for the 2021 Hyundai Mercury Prize
The shortlist for the 2021 Mercury Prize have been unveiled, with singer-songwriter Arlo Parks, Scottish post-rock band Mogwai and rapper Ghetts among the list of nominees.
Twelve 'Albums of the Year' have been selected for the shortlist by a panel whose judges this year include musician and songwriter Ann Calvi, head of BBC 6Music Jeff Smith, broadcaster and DJ Annie Mac and last year's winner Michael Kiwanuka.
The 2021 Awards Show is due to take place on September 9 at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London, which is set to feature live performances from several of the shortlisted artists and will be broadcast live on BBC television and BBC 6Music.
Also featured on the shortlist this year are albums by Sault, Wolf Alice, Laura Mvula and Black Country, New Road. You can find the full shortlist below:
