Artists For Grenfell launch charity single, 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'
A week on from the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in the London borough of North Kensington, yesterday marked the release of a star-studded charity single organised by Simon Cowell to raise money for the residents, survivors and families of those who lost their lives in the blaze that began on June 14th.
Released under the banner Artists For Grenfell, a cover version of Simon & Garfunkel's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' was launched yesterday. The song features contributions from more than 30 artists including Stormzy, Nile Rodgers, Rita Ora, Jessie J, Craig David and The Who's Roger Daltry, to name a handful, as well as the London Community Gospel Choir, who are joined by some of the Grenfell Tower residents, led by Gareth Malone.
The single was recorded over three days at Sarm Studios, just half a mile away from Grenfell Tower, with a range of artists donating their time and talent to help raise funds for those left homeless and grieving by the incident.
All proceeds of the single will go to the London Community Fire Fund, who will manage the distribution of funds to those affected by the incident. You can find the single here in our download store, and you can also find the video for the single below...
