Asking Alexandria frontman Danny Worsnop quits the band
Asking Alexandria frontman Danny Worsnop has quit the band.
The singer had been with the heavy metal outfit since their formation in 2008 and had recorded three albums with the group. He has now departed to focus on new outfit We Are Harlot.
Explaining his departute, Worsnop said in a statement: "To all of my friends and fans: I would like to let you know that Asking Alexandria and I are moving forward in separate ways. Over the last eight years together we've done some amazing things and created something truly special. I now, same as then, want what's best for the band and at this point in time, that isn't me."
He continued: "Asking Alexandria will continue to tour throughout the year and will be working on a new album. I will always support and love Asking Alexandria and cannot wait to see what the future holds for them. I am excited for the next chapter of my life with We Are Harlot and will see you all on the road!"
Guitarist Ben Bruce then issued a separate statement on the band's Facebook about the departure. He begins by saying that Worsnop's departure "I am sure comes as no surprise to you all" and goes on to promise that "Asking Alexandria will not be slowing down. We are going to tour harder than ever and we are going to write the greatest record of our career. We are extremely excited to announce that we will be spending all summer touring the European festival circuit and across North America on the Vans Warped tour with our new singer."
