Axwell /\ Ingrosso give an update on the progress of their debut album
Former Swedish House Mafia duo Axwell /\Ingrosso have given an update on their progress with their debut album, which is due out later this year.
Speaking to hmv.com in an interview that will be published tomorrow (March 12th), the pair stated that they're not quite finished with the record, but expect it to emerge in the autumn.
Asked about the progress with the album, Axwell said: "We still have work to do, but it’s coming along. We are crazy people when it comes to our music, we are always tweaking tracks, but it needs to be ready before the summer because we have to go and play it."
Then asked when it would be released and if that would be at the end of the year, Axwell replied: "Hopefully a lot sooner than that, but it will probably be after the summer.”
The pair also confirmed that the album will not contain any major collaborations, with Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Pontare appearing on the bulk of the record.
Axwell added when asked if any big-name vocalists would feature on the album: "We’ve always gone after vocalists who we feel suit the songs. When we recorded ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ and ‘Save The World’ we ended up working with a guy who lived nearby in Stockholm and with this album it’s mainly been Vincent (Pontare) and Salem (Al Fakir) who’ve worked with us. We’ve kept it local, locally produced, like great organic food.”
