Bastille’s reissued and repackaged ‘Bad Blood’ – What else do you get?

London quartet Bastille have been one of 2013’s big success stories. They’ve shifted over 300,000 copies of their debut album Bad Blood, which has yielded three Top 20 singles, including ‘Pompeii’, which charted at Number Two and has sold over one million copies in its own right.

Eight months after it was first released, the band are re-releasing the record, retitling it All This Bad Blood and adding lots of new tracks. Here’s what you can expect from it:

Hang on a minute, haven’t Bastille already re-released Bad Blood?

You’re not wrong, they released a second edition entitled Bad Blood: The Extended Cut earlier this summer that had three new songs, a bunch of session tracks and a couple of music videos too.

Now you tell me it’s a double CD, so have they written a whole new album?

No, no they haven’t. The second disc will contain a selection of previously unreleased tracks, both new and old and a series of selections from the band's two mixtapes, Other Peoples Heartache Parts 1 and 2. It also includes the band’s new single ‘Of The Night’, which is a mash-up of Snap!'s '90s classic 'Rhythm is a Dancer’' and Corona's 'The Rhythm of the Night'.

It’s a great cover and you can hear it at the bottom of the page.

So does this hint at what the band are going to do next?

It does. In fact frontman Dan Smith said when the album was announced: ‘’All This Bad Blood' feels like a complete representation of what we have done so far and what we’d like to do in the future. The first part allows us to properly release the tracks that we love and play live all the time but couldn't fit on our proper debut.’’

He continued: ‘’The second part is a mini version of one of our mix tapes which weaves in a couple of new songs that show the extremes of where we're heading on our next album; one guitar-driven and the other way more electronic’’.

Is it worth my while buying then?

If you’ve not got your hands on any version of Bad Blood yet, then this is the one to get. Lavishly put together, this is one of the best pure pop albums of the year.

On the other hand, if you’ve already got one copy of the record, maybe leave it at that and download ‘Of The Night’.

All This Bad Blood is released on Monday (November 25).
