Blink-182 give an update on the follow-up to Neighborhoods
Blink-182 singer/guitarist Tom DeLonge has said that the band hope to have their new album ready by next summer.
The pop-punk trio, who released their long-awaited comeback album Neighborhoods in the autumn of 2011, had initially said that they hoped to have their new album out for the summer of 2014, but that quickly fell by the wayside.
Speaking to music blog Wondering Sound, DeLonge said the following when asked when fans could expect the new album: "I am hoping that we can get this thing out by summer, but we will see."
Then asked how writing was going, the singer added: "We actually have our very first big writing session coming here in the next few weeks where we’ll get together and lay down our first tracks."
The band played a full European tour across the summer, which included two shows at London's Brixton Academy and headline slots at Reading and Leeds Festivals, but they did not debut any new songs on the tour.
DeLonge is currently preparing to release The Dream Walker, the latest album from his other project Angels And Airwaves.
